Meeting our partners- Rubingu
Rubingu Ruharara (far right) is an elder of Mangondo Church and has been our partner since 2018. He and his wife have three children and care for five others. Rubingu has created the Support Les Vulnerables (SV) association which receives support from Anistemi and serves orphans, widows, and the most vulnerable in this community.
Anistemi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Anistemi partnered with Elder Rubingu Ruharara to open a sewing school in Uvira, Congo in 2023. Over 90 women have completed the training, graduated and been gifted a sewing machine.
We are now in the next phase of building a new sewing school and community center on land we own. Our generous supporters have donated $75,000 in funds for the construction of the new school. This sewing school will also serve as an outreach center to the people in Uvira.
Anistemi ensures seventy seven of the community's most vulnerable children are educated. Currently we sponsor 1 college student, 56 high school students and 20 elementary students. Anistemi invests in long term solutions like education to provide hope for a different future.
Future Plans
Across each community, we have a mutual desire with our local partners for initiatives to reach financial sustainability. We pray for self-sustainability for the new sewing school and community center. This will not happen immediately and without more investment.
