Our Mission

Easing the burden of poverty one person at a time

Self-sustaining

Investing locally

4 schools and growing

Anistemi aims to create self-sustainability in each community we partner with. We do not want to offer handouts but hand ups through opportunities like education, vocational training and small business investments.

Anistemi believes our partners know what is best for their communities. We strive to let them lead and set priorities.  Currently, Anistemi employs 44 people across our three community partners and hire local workforce for any development and construction opportunities.

Anistemi currently partners with four schools across East Africa, impacting over 600 students and families.

Committed to Love

The work of Anistemi is guided by a board made up of committed, caring, and knowledgeable individuals. It was founded by Masemo Wakibogo and Kristi Martin. Masemo is a refugee of Congo who lived in Nairobi and now resides in Kansas with his family. Kristi Martin felt called by God to be a bridge between those with little and those with enough. She stepped out in faith to form this organization and has been following God’s lead to continue making a difference across Africa ever since.

Anistemi relies on trusted partnerships with intelligent, capable, God-loving individuals who help us navigate specific needs and the best ways to meet them in: â€‹

-  Nairobi, Kenya (Pastor Solomon Safari and Cammeline Walukayah);
-  Uvira, Congo (Elder Rubingu Ruharara) and
-  Kumel, Uganda (Ikwarit Charles)

The word Anistemi means "to raise up". Our desire is to provide opportunities through education, skill building, microlending and relationship that may allow the people in the communities we serve to raise themselves up and out of poverty. Anistemi is a 501(c)(3) private charity. 99% of every dollar given goes directly to the communities we serve.
